BIO

Nancy Roberts Linder is Chapman's Chief Marketing Officer. She is responsible for the firm's marketing department, supporting visibility, business development, and social impact and sustainability initiatives. Nancy has worked with professional service entities, primarily law firms, for the past 35 years. For 18 of those years, Nancy managed her own law firm consulting practice where she created marketing function infrastructure and advised on client development and client relationship management matters. Prior to starting her consulting practice, Nancy was the first marketing professional hired by a 300-lawyer Chicago firm and created the firm's marketing department.

Nancy pioneered the teaching of marketing skills to law students by developing an award-winning program which she taught with other law firm marketing colleagues at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. Nancy's innovative programming received awards from Chicago-Kent and the Legal Marketing Association.

Nancy is a member of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) and served on the Midwest Chapter Board of Directors since the chapter’s inception in 1989 through 2000, where she served twice as president and was inducted into the chapter’s Hall of Fame. Nancy is also a supporter of the Chicago Bar Foundation, where she co-chairs the annual Passport to Chicago event, a program concept she helped create.

Nancy has published more than 100 articles and speaks on a variety of lawyer marketing topics, including conducting CLE pertaining to the ethics rules governing lawyer marketing.

Under Stacey’s guidance, Chapman has raised its American Lawyer Summer Associate Survey and Midlevel Associate Survey rankings from near the bottom of the list to one the Top 10 firms in the nation. She also worked to create Chapman Leadership Academy, a training and development curriculum designed to prepare senior associates for partnership, the first such program of its kind at the firm. Stacey has also worked to expand the internal CLE training for all attorneys, as well as developed Chapmanʼs Core Curriculum program for junior associates, to focus on cross-training and legal issues important to firm clients.

Stacey works with the firmʼs diversity committee to recruit, retain, and advance women, LGBTQ+, and ethnically diverse lawyers—efforts that have resulted in national recognition for the firm as one of the 50 Best Law Firms for Women by Working Mother Magazine (Chapman has been regularly ranked since 2007). Chapman has also received a perfect score of 100% on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation Corporate Equality Index every year since 2008.
