The Inaugural Legal ESG: Awards / UK
Following Legal ESG: London - the Legal ESG: Awards / UK will recognize excellence, innovation, and leadership in Environmental, Social, and Governance throughout the UK legal profession.
Legal ESG was born during the pandemic to bring together today’s thought-leaders to address the business-critical imperative of Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance throughout the legal profession.
And come together we did! The resulting Legal ESG community has flourished since launching with online Summits in 2021. Even virtually, the community coalesced to share, nurture, encourage, and innovate – demonstrating true ESG leadership across the globe.
Now Legal ESG events are in-person on a regional basis. Offering these awards to recognize the exemplary work and innovation of those leading in ESG throughout the legal profession in each region is a logical complement to what the Legal ESG community has accomplished, and is accomplishing, as we continue to pursue true strategic leadership and courage in Legal ESG.

In collaboration with his daughter Carla Parsons, Senior Associate at Mills & Reeve, this award recognizes a young legal professional who shows exceptional promise in driving ESG initiatives and shaping the future of responsible legal practice.

NOMINATION / EVALUTION CRITERIA
- Describe the work and how it is an example of holistic and strategic ESG.
- Describe how this work is contributing to the transition of a more equitable and just society.
- Explain how this work is an example of lawyers using their highest and best skills to address society’s most pressing challenges.
- Describe the ultimate impact of the work.

19 APRIL / NOMINEE SUBMISSION DEADLINE
All submissions must be completed no later than 19th April
22 APRIL / FIRST ROUND JUDGING
Our first round of judging will assess and analyze each nominee.
07 MAY / FINALISTS ANNOUNCED
Our esteemed Judges will review and assess each submission through April and May based on the award criteria and announce the finalists of each award category on 22nd of May.
27 May / SECOND ROUND JUDGING
With our finalists set, our judging panels will review, score, and determine this year's recipients.
19 JUNE / AWARDS DINNER
The award recipients of each category will be announced on 19th June at the Legal ESG: Awards / UK. The dinner you will hear from the recipients, judges and guest speakers, network with your peers, and celebrate and recognize outstanding contributions to ESG.
JUDGES
The team at Legal ESG has secured impressive panels of hand-selected judges for each recognition category. Each panel of judges brings years of legal experience, in-house and in private practice lawyers, and ESG expert, specific to their assigned category.
Our judging panels include ESG pioneers, legal leaders, innovators in law firm management and legal practice, and academia, including experts in ESG, culture, collaboration, sustainability and workforce development.
They will evaluate the submissions carefully to highlight best practices in Legal ESG Excellence in each category.
