BIO

Hedieh Fakhriyazdi serves as the Director of Social Responsibility and Weil Foundation at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. In this capacity she manages the Firm’s Social Responsibility department and Charitable Foundation in close partnership with the Firm’s senior leadership. Her portfolio includes management of public service programs globally for attorneys and professional staff, grantmaking, board service, client and business development opportunities, the Weil Scholarship Program, and governance matters related to the Weil Foundation. In 2019 she launched Weil’s newest industry-leading strategic philanthropy initiative, the Weil Legal Innovators program and launched Weil’s Community@Weil 

platform in 2017. She previously served as the Associate Director for Global Diversity and Social Responsibility, helping to lead the Firm’s global diversity and inclusion efforts.


Hedieh previously worked at Bloomberg LP in Corporate Philanthropy and Diversity and Inclusion. In this capacity, she managed a multimillion-dollar charitable giving portfolio and was responsible for developing public-private partnerships between the organization and its nonprofit partners. Most notably, in partnership with Points of Light and the National Conference on Citizenship, Hedieh led Bloomberg’s participation and development of The Civic 50, the first national survey measuring the most civic and community-minded S&P 500 companies.


Hedieh serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Public Service at New York University’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She earned her Master of Public Administration in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy from NYU Wagner, as well as her Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Virginia.


Hedieh currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the United Way of New York City and is Vice Chair of the organization’s Community Impact and Public Policy Committee. She is also a member of the Executive Forum for the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship and is on the New York Leadership Committee for the Iranian American Women’s Foundation.


She is a frequent speaker and advisor on topics related to corporate philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, diversity and inclusion and nonprofit management.
